This release fixes two security issues:

* Possibility of deleting PMs that don't belong to the user.
* Error reporting reveals database password info when a connection error is displayed.

This release also cleans up a number of nagging bugs in the code, as well as a couple of minor skin issues that came up in IE6.

All users are urged to update immediately to avoid potential problems. .........................

OK... its working  :D

I preferred the look of 1.4.0 though...

I'm a total newbie to all this... trying to change the skin to suit my site is a nightmare...

Are there any experts out there that would be willing to offer their services for a small fee?

I want a nice looking skin that suits my site.... the design of the site is pretty simple so i would imagine it would be easy for someone who knows what they are doing...

Let me know please

Thanks

If you take out all but one x it leads to a vBulletin forum. But there's only one post there. Highly suspicious. .........................

Is there any visual changes?

I did a few minor tweaks in default skin, adding a few extra links for the logged in members and such (not via modlet) also made a couple easy changes in profile view, adding direct links to "edit member" page (only viewable for admins), to make it easy on my other admins, that basically only need to deal with that part of administration.

Would that break if I run upgrade script? .........................

Hi,

Sorry i'm being careful because its still a new site and i don't want my post here to be picked up by the bots (ie google)

Yes Lady Anna it seems to be a totally different layout to this forum... like for instance...when you make a post your name and details etc are place above your post instead of to the side... this breaks up the reading process as you scroll down..  if you know what i mean..

Also i would like to add the navigation on my site to the forum (the forum is just a part of my site) ... I would actually like the header of the forum to match the rest of my site... i don't know whether this would be acheived using css... and the forum itself to be centrally aligned at a fixed width...

Any ideas?

Detruire, Samaon or LadyAnna... i'd appreciate if you could get back to me on this...

Thanks alot

Steve

There are no visual changes between 1.4.0 and 1.4.1 aside from the template bugs that have been discovered since 1.4.0 was released. .........................

Hi,

Heres a link to my other forum:

I much prefer the look of this one to the new one...

However there was a problem with it... there seemed to be an activation error with new users trying to make a post...

I never have got to the bottom of it... instead for now i've taken away the option where you have to wait for activation before you can make a post...  I was worried this would leave it wide open to spam... and i'm still not sure if it is working properly...

As you can see i'm the only user on there!!!  :(

Can anyone tell me what version it is?  Because i may use that one instead of the new one i've just installed here  ...

Thanks

Steve

That's pre 1.4.0

The skin changes you talk about were all introduced on that version

The registration / activation problem is probably caused by the server not allowing use of the PHP mail() function. Thus, the script can't send the confirmation emails to the members.

If it is that problem, it can't be fixed without your host's intervention. .........................
